The Plot : A new outdoor theatre space 2000 1215 John Whitmore Photography

The Plot is a response to the effects of Covid-19 on the theatre industry in Coventry, being setup by Blindspot Theatre. Not only does it create a space that enables social distancing and being outdoors it responds to the financial difficulties many in the industry are facing by providing free rehearsal and workshop space.  One of the best things about The Plot is it is based in an allotment, already a place of community away from the hustle and bustle of the city.  You can find out more about their aims over on the website but first the space needed creating!
I joined Georgia Kelly and a group of enthusiastic volunteers on a Saturday in September to start clearing the site, cutting grass, uncovering years of discarded rubbish (10 year old tins of food anyone?), digging holes, filling holes, moving bath tubs and spending some time outdoors.
